4 Tips for Saving Big with BookRenter.com

By: PJ Fuller,

With access to over five million titles in its shelves, BookRenter is a must for all college students trying not to go broke because of their required reading lists. What began as a single student's dream of selling used textbooks for extra pocket money soon became a successful textbook renting business, both cheap and easy to use. Since 2006, BookRenter has shown that they understand the needs of the average student and want to help. BookRenter encourages you to highlight or write in the margins as you see fit, learning what you need from the textbook before sending it back. If you want to keep a rented book, it will never cost you more than the purchase price. If you want to rid yourself of the rented book ASAP, returns can be made at any time with no questions asked. With free shipping both ways, a flexible rental period, and savings of up to 90% on a book, it's hard to argue with their student-friendly system. BookRenter saves you money by allowing you to rent instead of buy, so you can focus your energy on passing your class without worrying about overpriced textbooks.

Here are some commonly asked questions about BookRenter.com:

1)

How Do I Use a Coupon Code for BookRenter?

On BookRenter's website, the place to enter a coupon code can be found on Step Two of the buying process, right after you input your address, before you confirm your order. The small box is located at the bottom right-hand of the screen, just opposite your Payment Information and beneath the current purchase total. When you click on the box, you will see the Apply tab go from gray to blue. After inputting your code, click that blue "Apply" to get your discount to your purchase.

2)

What is BookRenter's Return Policy?

Unlike most stores, BookRenter intends for you to return your items (unless you’ve opted to purchase them). Returning items is an easy 3-step process. First you log in at BookRenter to print your pre-paid return shipping label and packing slip. Next you pack the books you are returning in a box (for your convenience you can use the box you received them in). Finally, you ship your rented items back via UPS or the U.S. Postal Service. Alternatively, you can drop them off at a local retail store near you. To receive a refund, you'll need to ship your book back within 21 days in its original condition with a printed prepaid shipping label. Ebooks must be returned within 14 days of your order date to be eligible for a refund.

3)

Is BookRenter a Safe Site?

Yes, BookRenter is a safe service. In 2006 BookRenter launched with a mission to save students money. It is a widely used and safe option for affordable textbook renting. When you rent books from BookRenter, you can be assured of an attentive, dependable partner in your education. They provide a flexible rental period with student convenience in mind. BookRenter's website is totally user-friendly from its search tools to return process.

4)

What is an Auto Buyout?

An auto buyout occurs as a consequence of not returning a rented book by its due date or within a reasonable allotted time. At first, when your return is late, you will receive extensions on your purchase. However, it becomes an automatic buyout after two 7-day periods of extensions have already been charged and/or when the price of the extension is more than or equal to the buyout price of a book. Your rental will then be charged the same as if you bought the book. At this point, you are no longer under the rental agreement and simply own the book.
