Jon answered on 2.15.17:

While I don’t spend hours in Target browsing the new homewares or clothing collections as some of my coworkers readily admit to, I do frequent the store for its great deals. Not only does it provide everyday discounts, the Target coupon policy is extremely generous.

You can stack manufacturer coupons with Target’s own offers — from Cartwheel to digital deals — as long as all of the promotions are current. Unfortunately, Target does not accept competitor coupons, but Target does match competitor prices.

Below, we’ll dive into the policy’s details so you can make the most of your next shopping trip, including today’s top deals to use online at Target.com.

Tips for Couponing at Target Stores

For each item, you can stack one manufacturer coupon, one Target-specific coupon, and one Cartwheel offer (all coupons must have a scannable barcode).

For example, if you’re wanting to buy the Totino’s item from the image below, you can use the $1.00 off coupon from a manufacturer plus a 25% off Totino’s deal Cartwheel might be running to significantly reduce the price from about $8.50 to less than $6 a pack.

Unless otherwise noted, only four identical coupons can be redeemed per person (and they can be pretty strict on this). I’ve shopped with more than four coupons and gotten away with it, and I’ve also had to make multiple purchases, separating how many coupons I was using per order at Target.

It’s important to note that the Target app and its proprietary Cartwheel in-store savings app both include digital versions of current manufacturer and retailer coupons.

As we’ve already discussed, the store doesn’t take other retailer offers, but Target will match prices and weekly ads from certain competitors. This is definitely a worthwhile endeavor if you’re trying to get all your shopping done at one store.

How to Use Coupon Deals at Target.com

When shopping online, you’ll want to browse the promo codes available for the particular item or category you’re shopping. For example, specific brands will often go on sale using a particular code or entire categories like bedding will get discounted.

DealCrunch is dedicated to helping you save money, so we built our own deal engine to scour the web for the best available offers from popular retailers like Target. Every hour, our editors review new deals and add them to our site for you to use.

Target Does Not Accept Expired Coupons, So Shop Now

I’ve definitely learned a few things from my Target-obsessed co-workers when it comes to saving at the store. After consulting with them for this post, it’s clear that just how impressive Target’s coupon policy is and just how easy it is to stack up great deals to unlock deeper discounts.

The biggest tip I’ve heard over and over? Before you go browsing the aisles — or web pages — of Target, don’t forget to check the available savings and don’t let your coupons expire! And remember, you don’t have to worry about expired deals online because our editors test to make sure the offers on our Target store page are always up-to-date.
