The Banana Republic Rewards program allows shoppers at Banana Republic (and the stores below) to earn points toward their next purchases. Basically, you earn 1% back on all of your purchases which you can use on future purchases.

Banana Republic Rewards points are accrued whenever you use a Banana Republic credit card (also known as a BananaCard) at the following stores:

  • Banana Republic
  • Gap
  • Athleta
  • Old Navy

These points can later be redeemed in $5 increments to use at Banana Republic and Gap brands.  In this guide we will cover:

With no annual fee, having a Banana Republic credit card allows you to get 15% off your first purchase with the card as well as being enrolled into the Banana Republic Rewards system.  There is also the Banana Republic Luxe Card which offers additional benefits to frequent shoppers.

3 Different Types of Banana Cards

Banana Republic offers 3 types of credit cards that come with a wide variety of ways to earn points. However, cashing in on those points happens to all be the same — for every 500 points you reach, you’ll receive $5 to spend on your next purchase.

  • Banana Republic credit card: earn 1 point for every $1 you spend at a Gap brand
  • Banana Republic Visa credit card: earn 1 point for every $1 you spend wherever Visa is accepted
  • Banana Republic Luxe card (upgrade): 20% additional reward points based on what you earn every 3 months

You should consider upgrading to the Luxe credit card (5,000 points in a calendar year) if you shop often at Banana Republic and other Gap brands. You’ll receive extra benefits like Triple Points Shopping Days, free shipping on all online orders, and Choose Your Own Sale Day in addition to rewards offers and promotional codes. Learn more about each card’s benefits and features on the Banana Republic credit card page.
